How to read this figure

Method

FOB value of the honey Argentina exports in the year divided by its net weight, both as Argentina reports them to UN Comtrade. The database publishes the value and the weight but not their ratio, so the observatory calculates the price.

Limitations

This is an average price: if Argentina changes the mix of what it sells, the price moves even if no buyer pays a different price. The source publishes no named licence; its terms allow transformed data to be redistributed, so the calculated price is published rather than the original file.

Confidentiality

No threshold: this is an aggregate market price, not calculated over identifiable people or firms.

Revision policy

The whole series is recalculated when the agency publishes a new edition, and the previous version is kept as an erratum with its reason.
